Custom 6 string Fretless

A bit of a blast from the past, this 6-string bass was carefully acquired on the pre-owned market and then sent in for some thoughtful upgrades to enhance both its playability and aesthetic appeal. The first upgrade involved a fretless conversion, transforming the instrument's feel and sound to suit more expressive playing styles. Following that, the head profile was subtly shaved down to improve balance and comfort, and high-quality Hipshot tuners were installed for precise and stable tuning. To finish, the entire instrument was coated with a luxurious high gloss clear finish that highlights the beautifully chosen woods and craftsmanship. The neck is crafted from rich Mahogany, complemented with Walnut stringers, while the “wings” feature chambered Mahogany topped with Peruvian Walnut, elegantly accented with bass clef and Simonetti Logo designs. The fingerboard is made of dark, dense Wenge with Maple inlay lines, and the large Purpleheart pickup cover houses two Simonetti Passive humbuckers, each equipped with coil switching for versatile tonal options. A CTS master volume, pickup blend, and tone control complete the fully passive electronics setup. The bridge is also Purpleheart, finished with polished brass string nut and bridge saddles, combining durability with attractive aesthetics.
